ABOUT US: The Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning public agency that provides its 73,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational facilities, programs, events, parks and open spaces. Volkening Heritage Farm, situated on Spring Valley’s grounds, is a living history museum where visitors can experience life on an authentic 1880s German farm, complete with horses, cows, pigs, chickens, and much more!
FARM PROGRAM ACTIVITY LEADERS
# of Vacancies: Two (2)
10-15 hours per week
Positions start in April and end in December
Weekdays based on school field trip schedule.
Pay: $10.50 per hour
Duties: Working as part of a team, you will lead history and farm themed activities and demonstrations for our school field trips visitors. Includes dressing in period clothing.
QUALIFICATIONS: The best applicants must truly enjoy working with the public, children, and families. A sincere interest in American history, agriculture, and/or museums a must. Must be comfortable around large animals and able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work a variable schedule, adjust to varying paces, and work independently.
